After 6 yrs working in OCBC, I finally switched to my current job 3 mths ago. From doing as admin, to an accounting field. Though I joined this firm with an Accounting Diploma, but I had never got to handle Accounting stuff. This is my 1st job as Accounts Assistant. I started from scratch and learn new things in the new firm.
All my collegues are very nice and they are willing to help when I have doubts, but sometimes, I find my questions rather stupid, after they answered my questions. I've made mistakes here and there. During my 2nd month, my Accountant asked me over and reviewed my performance. She told me that I am OK but careless. Gotta be more careful. This is a serious problem in Accounting.. I was dishearted that time and I total myself next time have to be more careful.. I really try very hard to be careful but....
Dunnoe wat happened to me lately, everything seems to be very wrong. Watever I do also wrong, although not big mistakes but small careless mistakes. During work, I tot I had sorted the GVs properly in serial No order, when I passed it to my colleugue for her billing, she came up to me after lunch, told me that the GVs were not sorted. I was stunted...... Didn't I've sorted yesterday? I've spent the afternoon sorting them leh cos got alot of GVs this month..... I started wild thinking..
There musz be a Suay Devil following me, the GVs were sorted but, the devil messed up my GVs overthe nite..... Haha! Cartoon thinking
After I had posted the GV accounts, printed out the Debit Notes, dunno wat happened, I was preparing to send the Debit Note out without Accountant's signature leh, I detached the duplicate copy from the original one, then suddenly something striked in my mind: 'hey, U no need to let the Debit Noted be signed meh?' Then I realised, I've made a mistake, I quickly put them back, cliped them and sent in for Accountant's signature.
Then, at afternoon, the Accountant called me over 'Oh oh... wat mistake now?' I tot to myself. She asked me, why the duplicate copy was on top of the original one. Then, I quickly changed it back. They must be thinking, "Alamak, made mistake again..." Wah Lau, how many mistakes I have made ever since I joined.
Oh No! The Suay Devil swopped the position of the Debit Note over the night. Made me get scolded the next day.
I almost couldn't take it, cos I had been my previous job for 6 yrs and I was super familiar with my job I can even do it with one eye closed. Now, everything has been reset to zero again... back to when I was yr 1 in my previous job.
