Dining at Imperial Treasure Restaurant

Today is a Public Holiday, CIndy, Eve and I went to Marina Square for dinner. We have not decide where to dine as there's quite a number of choices at MS Sq. We walked into Center Stage and decided to dine at this Chinese Restaurant Called Imperial Treasure.

This is my first time dining at Imperial Treasure, when reading through the menu, the variety of the food looks alike to another Restaurant, they have La Mian, Xiao Long Bao, Jiao Zi and other side dishes. etc.

We ordered 嘛辣拉面,杂酱面 , 炸银鱼,炒芥兰, 上海小龙包,绞子 and 蛋黄炸虾.
I simply love the Ma La noodle. The sourness and spiciness of the soup base is very well balanced. I just couldn't help but finished up the soup base. The Ying Yu was very crispy and freshy. The Xiao Long Bao is juicy with tasty minced pork and thin skin. The Egg Yolk Fried Prawn a new dish to me, however, I don fancy egg yolk, so I only took 1 piece, it's great to me so, it's definitely gonna be the yolk fans's No. 1 favourite dish. Lastly we ordered Xue Ge for dessert, the dessert it is too sweet, we asked for a glass of plain water to add into the dessert.
The food here is really worth for money as compared to Cyrstal Jade.

What adds credits to this restaurant is their service.
Our tea was refilled and table was cleared frequently. three of us were sharing two bowls of noodles and we were still eating the Ma La noodle and other dishes, chatting away and left the Za Jiang noodle on the big bowl untouched. The waitress noticed that that bowl of noodle was untouched yet and might get cold and soggy if left for too long, she suggested and initiated to split up in 3 bowls for us. We were very gratful for their initiative.

杂酱面

蛋黄炸虾

上海小龙包

绞子

Overall, the dining pleasure is very good. The food served were very tasty. The sevice crews were polite, observant and initative to customer's need. Their service makes me feel comfortable and important. Although there's still room for improvement, it is rarely to be found in most of the restaurants lately.

I'll definitely have my next visit at Imperial Treasure.

Cindy's Birthday Celebration at Joaquim Buffet Steamboat Restaurant

Cindy treated us Buffet Steamboat meal at Joaquim Buffet Steamboat Restaurant loacated at grounnd floor of Suntec's Convention Hall.
It searves wide range of food, each person has a personal mini steamboat pot whith the choices of Tom Yam, Chicken or Pork soup base. My favourite is always the chicken soup base. You can add whatever ingredients into your mini pot to create your very owned steamboat ingredients.

Not only uncooked steamboat food, they also serves delicious cooked food like tempura vegetables, rojak and poh piah for customers while the ingredients are boiling hot in the pot. The most importantly, the soup base is nicely flavoured, just add other food like chicken, carrot, vegethables mini corn..etc to make the soup perfectly sweet.

The mini personal pot.

Yeah! Ready to be served!!!

They also serves wide range of desserts. My fruits, tart, cake and ice-cream is very tasty, the the strawberry pudding would be nice if the milk is not added so much!

A GeTaWaY tO gEnTiNg HiGhLaNd

In view of the rising air fuel charges, currency slack, human/nature disasters, I'm visiting Genting Highland again for holiday this year. In fact, I haven't been to any holiday for years and it has been years since I last visited Genting.

Genting is definitely a good place for a poor scrooge like me who doesn't want to spend much of the savings to a holiday. Genting has shoppings, dining, themepark and leisure in a place.

If you are a shopping freak like me, you can simply take a coach to KL from the bus terminal at Genting. What I love best is the climate in Genting.

Located at an altitude of 1800 meters, temperatures in Genting are a good at 15-25°C range, the hotel rooms are unheated and can get chilly at night.

We took an early coach to set up to Genting Highland. As we woke up 5am in the morning, all of us sleep like log in the coach after we passed the Customs.

We reached Genting at about 1.30pm. Dad got the Q no. and we waited at the seating area. The counters were no opened yet.. Can you imagin? 1.30pm.. counter closed?? People started crowded in for Q when more coaches arrived by the time. The hotel check in area were crowded with peole. We were wondering was it lunch time? Why isn't there anybody at the counter working? Shouldn't hotel service be 24hr?? When the Q no started running, it runs very slowly... We spent 1hr+ waiting for check in... no matter how early we arrived at Genting, our time just wasted in waiting.

While waiting for the Q no. for hotel key card.

Our room is at level 7. The corridoor was kinda long and twisted, we have to memories the way in and out to the lift to prevent getting lost at the corridoor.. so paisey...
This is our hotel room. Kinda small, no waredrobe but cosy. I can simply went to sleep very fast due to the tiredness and coolness.

This is the toilet, small small too... Luckily my size is not super XXXXXXXXXXL kind, if not I'll be very uncomfortable mgh..mgh.. and pom pom in there.

my favourite area of the room is the window view. I feel good when looking out of the window every morning.

This is the view from our hotel room window. It's a great view!

This is the mountain view taken from the lift lobby our hotel level.
***********************************

After we have settled down our luggage, had our face washed, we had our first lunch in Genting at Old Town Coffee House.

Self taken photos while waiting for food..

The interior of the coffee house is designed to look like old time coffee shop.

This is my Tom Yam Bee Hoon soup and Hot Chocolate. It feel so warm eating it in such a cool weather.

***********************************

The surrounding of First World Hotel.

I saw this big poster of Leo Ku when we were strolling at the building. I was so excited and took pictures with the poster.

***********************************

The surroundings of Genting Hotel.

Choosing for snacks.

Aren't these cup cakes look kawaii? These are from the bakery shop opposite the Coffee Terrace at Genting Hotel.

Hey Hey... I'm now the trainer

***********************************

We had our dinner at Coffee Terrace. It's not cheap loh, RM50 per person.

The design of the restaurant is nicely decorated.

The counters are differentiated by different cultures with open concept kitchen, so you can see the chef preparing the food for you.

Salad is always my first choice appetiser in every buffet. People always said that one must try their basic dishes like salads to determine the finess of the food in the restaurant. The salad taste fresh but it'll be good if there's more dressings. Only the tomatoes taste raw.

Too bad the satay has only one chicken flavour, it taste nice but the meat a bit dry.

The grilled salmon was nice, the salmon were too big sliced. The worse dish was the asian western aka indian food. The tendoori chicken were charred and dry, the craker were so bitter....

The vegie was nicely cooked with sliced salmon.

The deserts looks so beautiful that you would want to eat them all. We chose ice creams, pudding and choc sundae like desert, but it's actually choc moose... it's not cold and it tasted very scary.. The budding was just as bad.. The ice-cream was just Walls ice-cream that mum bought from market.

I think the best desert the cup of tea..... I refilled twice. Maybe I was too thirsty after meal, don't know is it because of the large area or is shortage of manpower, our water was not refilled frequently, plates were not cleared oftenly. The table behind us was left uncleared after the customers had left for long.

***********************************

We went for a walk and enjoy the coolness of Genting nite.

The hotel room was as cold as my air-coned bedroom at night, and it doesn't have any air-conditioned, the windows were almost enclosed. I hid under the comforter in my jacket to sleep.

***********************************
The next morning, we woke up early in the morning to have our breakfast before we set off to KL.

The morning dew

***********************************

Our 2 breakfasts were complimentry by the hotel. The cafe has a very large area to accomdate all the First World hotel guests.

The variety of the buffet breakfast were so-so only. Well, it's complimentry breakfast, so we can't expect more. It has bee hoon, sausages, ham, nasi lemak, porridge, toasts, pau, coffee, tea, orang / mango juices, milk and cereals....etc. As long as it can fill u my stomach and give us energy to continue our journey.

My breakfast

All ready to go for KL shopping!

This is the bus terminal of Genting. It has sedveral counters to buy the bus tickets to places in M'sia, but there's only 1 counter that sell tickets to KL.

On the way down hill. Chin Swee temple that my mum & the rest will be visiting.

We took 1 hour bus journey to KL Titiwansa monorial station, we start our shopping at Mid Valley. We have to hire a cab to the shopping mall. All the cabbies didn't go by meter, we bargained the cab fare and to minimised that time wastage on searching for cabs, we agreed to one of the cabby for RM9, which was 5 bucks more than we budgeted.

Mid Valley was a very big shopping mall, we spent half of our day just to shop there. Alot of the shops are having Sales right now and the products are cheaper than in Genting.

I suggested to have our lunch at Kenny Roger & Roaster as aunt & uncle had never tried Kenny Roger before, and I wanted to compare the taste I had in S'pore. The environment and restaurant interior was nice and cosy.

The dishes doesn't look apetising to me especially the specgatti.......

My Kenny Roger meal comes with a 1/4 chick, with choice of original or black pepper sauce, choices of 3 side dishes and a muffin with choices of banana, vanilla or chocolate flavours.

I should have choose original to compare the taste of the chick, but I chose black pepper sauce, with macaroni cheese, potato salad and fruit salad costs RM15.90. It's a diappointment that they don't serve french beans.. I love french beans...

To our amazement when the chicken specgetti was served... Is this mee goreng kosong...? Why was the specgetti served as though there's no ingredients in it? not even a parsley for decoration.... It's the worse specg I ever seen... and it costs as much as my 1/4 chk meal...

The Plainest Specgatti

The chilli sauce ...

Coincidently, Mum & Lin were having Kenny Roger back at Genting too! Their Chicken meal costs $16.90.

It rained cats and dogs when we were shopping half way at Mid Valley we took a cab to Sungai Wang for our second shopping. The taxi Q was very long and the cabbies were choosy. They are smart to go by meter at this time as the traffic at KL was bad and plus wet weather.

We took the monorail back to Titiwangsa station to take the coach back to Genting.

This picture was taken on the monorail, due to the moving tram and w/o flash, This is the best twin tower picture I can take with my Canon Ixus 60.

This is the bus station to take to and fro Genting & KL.

It was raining that day and caused traffic jams on road, it took more than an hour to travel back to Genting. We were very tired and hungry.

These are my 战利品s at KL.

White clok shoes RM59.90 at Best 99 @ BB Plaza

Black pump shoes RM49.90 at Best 99 @ BB Plaza

Brown Esprit top RM89.90
Purple spegatti top for mum RM62.90
Dorothy Perkins Khakis pants RM96.00
Skinny Flare Jeans RM96.00
Black Boot Cut Jeans RM96.00
All from Mid Valley

Handphone hanger strip RM5.90
2 pairs of slippers RM10 each

***********************************
After the long shopping journey at KL, we took a bath, and took our super late dinner at 好味 eatery. We were very hungry as we rushed back to Genting from KL without dinner. It was already 10+pm when we had our dinner.

The bee hoon soup was very big bowl, costs RM13.00. The soup base was tastey with my favourite bee hoon and slices of chicken and bean sprouts. Nice Nice.

My big cup of Cafe Latte best after meal, costs RM5.00.

***********************************

We had our last lunch at the '大排档'. In this chilly weather, a bowl of hot hot 'ba kut teh' was the best.

However, a big pot of bah kut teh served with a few pieces of meat, few slices of pork skin, tau pok, toufu, tau kee, no vegie, with 4 bowls of plain rice and yu teow costs RM 55.50. I do remember that the Bah Kut Teh here is very well known.. How come...?

***********************************
Mum, auntie & Lin took the last minute shopping at the Bum City. I took a picture of the wallpaper. It'll look like you are standing at the NY street if you were to take the photo with the wallpapers.

*************************************************************************

After travelling for hours in the coach, we had our short break at Yong Peng stop for dinner. Dad suggested to dine at this restaurant that serves tzi char which he saw it during the last Genting trip with mum, however, it's not worth having dinner there only the 2 of them, so he must try the food this time round with seven of us.

As it's a short break, we quickly went to buy local products while the kitchen prepaing our food and we ate it in a fast pace as it's a 'short break'. Despite the speed of the dinner, we still can taste the quality of the food.

The brocoli looks very simple, it just fried with some mushrooms, vegie and cartrots, but the saltiness was just right and the carrot were just as soft.

This sweet and sour fish was one of my favourite dish. Deep fried fish was topped by sliced pineapples, tomatoes, cucumbers etc, cooked with sweet and sour sauce. The fish was so crispy that you could eat the crisp with the fish bone.

The shar fin only tasted so-so compared to the rest of the dishes.

The lemon chicken was very crisy fried, it looks very simple, but you can eat it alone or simply eat it with lots of lemon sauce. It's not too sweet or too sour.
This dark sauce pork is just nice to eat with plain rice. I simply finished the full bowl of rice adding the gravy on my plain rice.

We had a very full and satisfied dinner and the total bill was RM188 only!! It's so worth eating.

***********************************

We reached Singapore quite late as the bus was late arriving at Genting.

Well, overall after this holiday, I find that the things at Genting has increases, so does the pricing. Things at Genting costs $1-$10 more expensive at KL. some food in Genting doesn't taste as great to me. However a small restaurant at Johor had gave us great appetite.
